Greetings Striders,
We are writing to address some concerns that have arisen since January 15. The decision to cancel the race on the 15th was not decided by one person. The Board met and it was a unanimous decision to have a weather cancellation policy. The three board members who didn t make it to the meeting were e-mailed with no questions or comments; therefore we thought we were all in agreement. The weather cancellation policy was enacted with runners safety in mind. It has since come to our attention that some club members believe that the decision to enact and invoke this policy was in error. The Board will be discussing this issue further and will be revisiting the policy from the perspectives of safety, logistics and club tradition. Every year a new board is voted in and it should be expected that some changes may take place that not everyone will agree with, we are only human. We apologize to those who were inconvenienced by the decision to postpone the race.
